Early Sunday morning, tragedy struck at Buford’s Bar in downtown Austin. George Davis was among those caught in the chaos when gunfire erupted. A bullet shattered several of his ribs before doctors were able to remove it through surgery.

Now discharged from the hospital, George begins the long road to recovery. In moments like these, fear and anger can divide us—but compassion must be stronger.
