The Angels of the Tracks: 30 Years of “Las Patronas”
As the iron beast known as “La Bestia” roars through Veracruz, a miracle waits by the rails. They aren’t officials or billionaires; they are mothers and grandmothers known simply as Las Patronas.

For over 30 years, these women have stood against the wind, tossing bags of hope—warm rice, beans, and water—to desperate hands reaching out from moving train cars. For the thousands of migrants fleeing violence and hunger, these women are the first touch of humanity in a journey of shadows.
Why Their Mission Matters:
Life on the Move: They feed nearly 800 souls a day, including children facing the terror of extortion and injury.
A Sacred Bond: In 2025, they celebrated three decades of proving that solidarity has no borders.

Pure Courage: They don’t just give food; they give the dignity of being seen.
In a world of walls, Las Patronas build bridges with bread. They remind us that even in the face of a steel giant, kindness is the most unstoppable force.
