HONORING OUR HEROES

HONORING OUR HEROES
Tonight, we bow our heads in remembrance of the brave men of FDNY Rescue 1 — firefighters who answered the call on September 11, 2001, and ran toward the unimaginable.

Capt. Terence S. Hatton, 41
Lt. Dennis Mojica, 50
Joseph Angelini, Sr., 63
Gary Geidel, 44
William Henry, 49
Kenneth Joseph Marino, 40
Michael Montesi, 39
Gerard Terence Nevins, 46
Patrick J. O’Keefe, 44
Brian Edward Sweeney, 29
David M. Weiss, 41
As the towers of the World Trade Center stood in smoke and chaos, these heroes climbed higher — step by step — into danger so others could find their way out.

Their courage was not loud. It was steadfast. It was selfless. It was love in action.
Today, their names are forever etched at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum — a sacred place of reflection and gratitude.
We honor their sacrifice.
We carry their memory.
We will never forget.
