Yesterday in Washington Square Park, Manhattan, chaos unfolded as a large crowd reportedly clashed with NYPD officers. What some described as a protest or snowball fight   quickly escalated into a dangerous situation that left officers under attack.

Police Commissioner Tisch called the incident a “disgrace” and “criminal.” Meanwhile, Mayor Mamdani characterized it as kids engaging in a snowball fight. The contrast in responses has sparked outrage and deep concern across the community
