Uganda’s 70-Year-Old New Mom Welcomes IVF Twins
Safina Namukwaya, 70, became one of the world’s oldest mothers by giving birth to twins—a boy and a girl—via IVF on Nov 29, 2023, at Kampala’s Women’s Hospital International.

Delivered by C-section at 31 weeks (each ~3 lbs), the babies are healthy. Her doctor confirms she’s recovering well: “She’s stable, talking, and walking.”
Using donor eggs and her partner’s sperm, this fulfilled her lifelong dream despite challenges—including her partner leaving after learning of twins.
“Some say 70 is too old, but God decided I get twins at 70. No one can limit God’s power.”

Back in her village, strong community support helps her care for the miracles. A story of hope, resilience, and boundless love!
