Utah Couple Welcomes Quintuplets, Growing Family to Nine
In July 2007, Rachelle and Jayson Wilkinson from Utah experienced a life-changing miracle in Phoenix, Arizona. What started as a plan for one more child turned into the arrival of quintuplets — three girls and two boys!
The five newborns weighed a combined 21 lb 7.2 oz, setting a U.S. record for quintuplets at the time.

Already parents to a 7-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter, the couple turned to fertility treatments (ovulation medication + IUI) after years of trying. When an ultrasound revealed five heartbeats, doctors discussed selective reduction due to risks — but Rachelle and Jayson said no.
“Once we saw their tiny fingers and toes at 10 weeks, there was no choosing,” Rachelle shared.
Standing just 5’2″, she carried them to an impressive 34 weeks. “By the end, I couldn’t bend or sit — but every second was worth it!” she laughed.

Now back home in Utah, the older kids are adjusting to their new brothers and sisters. “They keep asking when Mom and Dad can finally come home,” Jayson joked.
From a family of four to a bustling family of nine overnight — what an incredible journey!
