Never Forget: Three Bright Lights Snuffed Out Too Soon

Never Forget: Three Bright Lights Snuffed Out Too Soon
On September 11, 2001, the world shattered for three innocent 11-year-old sixth graders from Washington, D.C.
Their names were:
Bernard C. Brown II
Asia S. Cottom

Rodney Dickens
Full of promise, they boarded American Airlines Flight 77 — excited for a dream National Geographic field trip to California, a special adventure blending science, exploration, and photography with their teachers.
Bernard: Clever, quick-witted, always keeping teachers on their toes, with a love for basketball.
Asia: Kindhearted, helpful, adored school and her Tweety Bird.
Rodney: Honor roll student who loved reading, computer games, wrestling, and time with his siblings.
Exemplary kids chosen for their brilliance and potential — futures stolen in an instant when evil struck the Pentagon.
Their parents’ grief was unimaginable; Bernard’s father even worked at the Pentagon. Unlike others like young Dana and Zoe Falkenberg traveling with family, these three left behind shattered homes, siblings forever missing their light.

24 years later, their laughter, dreams, and innocence echo in our hearts. We honor their memory, the children lost, and the futures ripped away by unimaginable terror.
We shall NEVER FORGET.
United in grief. United in strength. United in remembrance.
