A Question No Child Should Have to Ask

A Question No Child Should Have to Ask
“Why is God making me go through all this pain? I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Those heartbreaking words came from José, a brave 9-year-old boy who is fighting leukemia with everything he has.

Right now, José is at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, preparing for a bone marrow transplant that could save his life. But before doctors can move forward, they must solve a painful mystery — a fever that refuses to go away. After surgery to remove his infected appendix, everyone hoped the fever would disappear. Sadly, it didn’t.
Months of chemotherapy, needles, and hospital stays have left José exhausted. Some days he doesn’t want to eat or even get out of bed. The hardest part for his family is hearing the questions he asks through tears — questions no child should ever have to face.
Today, doctors are performing another surgery to search for the hidden infection causing the fever. His family is praying this procedure finally gives them answers so José can receive the transplant he desperately needs.

His mother shared words that touched everyone’s heart:
“You don’t truly understand this pain until someone you love is the one fighting.”
But José’s story is not just about suffering — it’s about courage.   One day, his family hopes this moment will be remembered as the chapter where José fought like a true champion.
Right now, they are asking for something simple but powerful: love, hope, and prayers.
If you could speak to José today, what would you tell him?
Leave a message of strength so his family can read it to him.
Let’s remind him he is not fighting alone.
