Eric Dane, the beloved star of Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria…

Eric Dane, the beloved star of Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria, has passed away at 53 after a courageous battle with ALS.
He bravely shared his diagnosis in April 2025, turning his struggle into a mission to raise awareness for this devastating disease. Known as Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan and Cal Jacobs, he touched millions on screen.

In his final months, Eric focused on family above all. His wife, Rebecca Gayheart, stood by him steadfastly—rekindling their bond after past challenges—and called him her biggest supporter. Their daughters, Billie and Georgia, were his world; he feared leaving them too soon.

He spoke openly about ALS’s toll: one arm gone, the other fading, yet his spirit remained strong. “ALS is a terrible disease,” Rebecca said, praying for a cure to spare other families this pain.
Eric fought with grace, love, and advocacy until the end. Surrounded by loved ones, he left a legacy of courage and hope. Rest in peace, Eric.
