He had almost nothing.

He had almost nothing.
A small bowl of rice.
A plastic spoon.
A corner of pavement outside a convenience store.

Paris: The unidentified homeless is begging with dogs on Champs Elysees avenue

He hadn’t even taken a second bite when a stray dog walked over.
Thin. Quiet. Watching.
The dog didn’t bark.
Didn’t beg.
Just stood there, close enough to be noticed.
The man looked at his food.
Then at the dog.
And without hesitation, he split the meal in half.
He was still hungry.
But he slid the bowl closer to the dog anyway.
No camera.

No applause.
No one telling him to do it.
Just a man who understood what it feels like to be overlooked.
Sometimes the people with the least money
have the most heart.
Because real wealth isn’t what you keep.
It’s what you give.
