After 17 Years of Waiting, Couple Welcomes Sextuplets in Virginia!
Ajibola and Adeboye Taiwo, a Nigerian couple, endured nearly two decades of hope and struggle to conceive. Their miracle arrived earlier this month in Richmond, Virginia: three boys and three girls!

An early ultrasound revealed four heartbeats; later scans surprised everyone with two more. “I was so excited. For the first time, we were really expecting,” Adeboye shared.
Delivered by C-section at just over 30 weeks on May 11 at VCU Medical Center, the babies (weighing 1 lb 10 oz to 2 lb 15 oz) received expert care from a 40-person team. Mom and all six preemies are stable—Ajibola discharged May 18, while the little ones grow stronger in the NICU.
“It’s not every day a family brings home six babies,” said Dr. Ronald Ramus. The team supported Ajibola as she “ate, slept, and breathed for seven lives.”

Ajibola’s heartfelt wish for her tiniest: “One day I want my smallest baby to say, ‘I started out so small—look at me now.’” She hopes they all return to VCU someday—as students giving back the same compassionate care.
A beautiful testament to perseverance and joy! Congratulations to the Taiwo family!
