Miracle in Pullman: Triplets Born in a Hometown Emergency
What began as terror became divine peace.
Katie’s water broke at just 29 weeks — far from their planned big-city hospital. In a frantic rush, the Pullman couple arrived at their small hometown facility with no NICU, no fancy equipment… only hearts ready to fight.

At 4 a.m., January 16, miracles arrived:
Allie Ann (2 lbs 6 oz)
Fred Hugh V (3 lbs 10 oz)
Caleb Travis (2 lbs 6 oz)
Over 20 heroic staff members stepped up — manually holding breathing masks for hours, refusing to let go until airlift to Spokane.
“I surrendered control. God took over — working through every hand in that room,” Katie whispered through tears.
Born and raised in Pullman — like six generations of Wexlers before her — she never imagined her scariest moment would feel so strangely calm, so deeply peaceful.

David and Katherine Blessing, from Fort Myers, care for Dylan, one of their 27 day old triplets in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022 in St. Petersburg. Dylan is the biggest of the siblings currently weighing 4 lbs 2 oz, at birth he was 2 lbs 14 oz. Katherine and David, both 34, have three newborn boys all currently being cared for in the NICU at the hospital. The triplets were transporter by medical helicopter Johns Hopkins All Children’s LifeLine 1 critical care transport team when Hurricane Ian cause for their Fort Myers hospital to be evacuated. The Blessings are temporarily living at the Ronald McDonald House located on the main campus at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

Today those tiny warriors grow stronger in the NICU.
The Wexlers stand overwhelmed with gratitude — for three precious lives, for a community that became family, and for a little hospital that turned chaos into unforgettable love.
Faith. Teamwork. Hometown heart.
Some stories aren’t planned… they’re heaven-sent.
