A Mother’s Hands Brought Life Into the World

A Mother’s Hands Brought Life Into the World
When doctors told 41-year-old Gerri Wolfe she needed a C-section, her heart broke.
She had dreamed of a natural birth. Control slipped away… or so it seemed.

But Gerri refused to become just a patient.
She discovered maternal-assisted cesarean — and fought for it.
“It’s my body. It’s my birth. It’s my baby.”
Her doctor hesitated. She brought research, passion, and unshakable resolve.
Finally, he said yes.
Then came the moment that still gives chills:
Lying awake on the operating table, wearing sterile gloves, Gerri reached down —
and with trembling, powerful hands lifted her twin daughters herself.

First Matilda… then Violet.
Skin to skin. Heart to heart.
She delivered her own babies.
“I didn’t want to just lie there. I wanted to feel them arrive.”
These were her 10th and 11th children — yet this birth felt like the most sacred of all.
Today, Matilda & Violet thrive at home, surrounded by 9 proud siblings and a father bursting with love.
Gerri’s words still echo:
“This was the most empowering moment of my life.
I brought my babies into the world on my own terms.”
A fierce reminder:
Even when the path changes, a mother’s courage, love and determination can rewrite the story of birth itself.
Never underestimate the power in a mother’s hands
